FAQ - Installation Basics
What are the installation basics?
- Handle with care.
- Inspect shipping cartons upon receipt and report any damages to the carrier in writing on the Bill of Lading prior to signing for receipt of goods.
- Store cartons right side up and flat in a clean and dry area that is enclosed and protected from the elements such as rain, snow, and excessive heat or cold.
- Do not sit on or stack any materials on top that could crush protective shipping cartons; this may cause damage to the product.
- Do not remove products from carton until ready to install.
- Do not score cartons to open. To remove products, cut shipping tape and fully open both ends of carton. Remove entire contents by pulling on poly bag. Do not remove products individually.
- Always work with clean hands and clean work surfaces.
- Wear clean cotton/canvas gloves to handle products during installation.
What special precautions do I have to take?
- Protect installed product from other processes depending upon circumstances such as over-spray from paint or acid wash, etc.
- Anything in close proximity that could soil the products must be considered to preclude any damage or deterioration.
- Additional painting of acoustical material will impede acoustical performance.
- Acoustical installations that are unsatisfactory in appearance and performance are often the result of incorrect application or disregard of the manufacturer's instructions. These recommendations are intended to address typical applications.

What considerations should I take into account before I begin?
- When planning your ceiling design be sure to pay close attention to the effect that sprinkler heads, light and ventilation fixtures or any other obstruction will have on your design.
- Remember that lighting will have a big impact on the directional pattern. Direct lighting will dramatize the strong lines of your ceiling; indirect lighting will produce a muted effect.
