When Leong Leong Architects designed the first 3.1 Phillip Lim flagship store in Los Angeles, California, they contacted pinta acoustic, inc. with the request to manufacture a three-dimensional, pyramid-shaped wall element to create a desired visual effect in the room.
The challenge for pinta acoustic with the next store in Seoul, South Korea was to manufacture five different cone-shaped wall elements. This was achieved with modern cutting technology and the use of flexible willtec melamine resin foam as the basic material. For Leong Leong Architects this was an outstanding opportunity to develop an even more unusual flagship store in Seoul.
